Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
Geth1b (geth1b.com and the Geth1b Autofill browser extension) is run by Fairbird Inc., a California corporation (“we”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it.
1. What we collect
Information you give us:
- Account: email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and security questions (answers stored only as hashes). If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address; we never see your Google password.
- Profile: name, school, degree, major, graduation year, work history, skills, target roles and locations, visa status and OPT dates, and links you add, such as LinkedIn, GitHub or a personal website.
- Resumes: the files you upload, the text we read from them, tailored versions and earlier versions.
- Job search records: jobs you save or apply to, the results you record, follow-ups, notes, goals and plans.
- Conversations with the Geth1b assistant and the notes it keeps about your preferences.
- Community posts, replies and feedback you write. Community posts are public and show your first name and last initial.
Information we collect automatically:
- Basic logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested and error records, kept to run and secure the service.
- Your interface language and time zone, used to show the site and to time reminders.
- A record of each visit: where it came from (for example a search engine, or a link with campaign tags), the page it started on and which steps it reached, such as viewing jobs or signing up. This record does not include your IP address or browser details and is not linked to your account. When you sign up, where your first visit came from is saved with your account. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we do not record visits at all.
- Browser storage (local storage) that keeps you signed in and keeps drafts. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
Information from public sources:
We show public data about employers and jobs: job postings from employers' career sites, U.S. Department of Labor and USCIS filing data, and the E-Verify employer list. When you ask Geth1b to find people at a company, we search the public web, including public LinkedIn profile pages, and the company's own website. We keep only the name, title, location and link we show you.
2. The Geth1b Autofill extension
- Sign-in: the extension uses the account you are signed in to on geth1b.com, or the email and password you enter in it. Signing out on geth1b.com signs the extension out.
- On application pages of Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, it reads the questions on the form and fills them from your Geth1b profile and resume. To answer a question it does not recognize, it sends the question to our server.
- If you approve applications on Geth1b, it opens each approved posting in a background tab, fills it, submits it and reports the result to your Geth1b account.
- It sends its version, your Chrome version and your operating system to our server so Geth1b can show whether it is connected.
- It does not read other websites, your browsing history or your other accounts.
3. How we use it
- To run the features you use: matching jobs, checking and tailoring your resume, filling applications, reminders and the assistant.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To understand which ways of finding Geth1b work, using the visit records described above.
- To send the emails you choose to receive, such as the morning list. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising.
4. AI processing
Some features send text to AI model providers to get a result: for example your resume text when you ask for a check or a tailored version, or your messages to the assistant. We send only what the feature needs. Their handling of this data is governed by their API terms.
You choose the provider on the Settings page, under AI model:
- DeepSeek (the default). Its servers are in the People's Republic of China. If DeepSeek is unavailable, that request goes to Google Gemini instead.
- Google Gemini. Nothing of yours is sent to DeepSeek, including the work we prepare for you overnight.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers that run parts of the service for us: hosting (Contabo, United States), network and security (Cloudflare), AI model providers (section 4), web search (Tavily), email delivery (Resend) and, if you use it, sign-in with Google (Google).
- Employers, when you apply: the application details you approve are sent to the employer's hiring system, either by you or by the extension on your instruction.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
6. Where your data is stored
Our servers are in the United States. AI processing may happen in the United States or the People's Republic of China (section 4).
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, resumes, records, conversations and the files you uploaded right away. Our backups are encrypted and kept for about a month, so copies in backups are gone within about five weeks. Logs are kept for a limited time for security.
8. Your choices
- See and download your data: Settings page, Your data, Download.
- Correct it: edit any item on your Profile page.
- Delete your account and data: Settings page, Delete account.
- Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or turn the email off on the Settings page.
- California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To make a request we cannot handle through the site, email us (section 11).
9. Security
Passwords and security answers are hashed. Connections use HTTPS. Access to production data is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure; tell us right away if you think your account was misused.
10. Children
Geth1b is not for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
